LASER MARKING SYSTEMS

Our laser units are designed to enable processors of glass and polycarbonate to comply with marking standards, and to achieve full product traceability of every item - date, time (HH:MM:SS) and sequential numbering, as well as glass tempering oven ID.

The three models conform to health and safety requirements for laser based equipment as specified in BSEN/IEC 60825-1:2007.

  • Fully mobile unit capable of operating anywhere within the processing plant, powered from either a mains supply or from the integral 12v batteries. Can be used whilst on charge - no need for downtime
  • Air cooled with a recommended maximum operating temperature of 30°C
  • Laser head is hand held; it is supplied as standard with 3 metres of umbilical cord allowing the operator to mark any size of glass in any position
  • The battery charger can take power over a range of 80v-270v AC, 40-70 Hz
  • Operates for up to 12 hours on a fully charged battery pack; it will have complete mobility during that time
  • Has an integrated system that continually monitors the battery, enabling the operator to know exactly when it needs charging
  • When marking polycarbonate or any other type of plastic, the unit is provided with an extraction system

The mains powered, floor mounted unit is designed for placing alongside existing tempering or production lines. This means there is no need for complex and costly integration to existing operations

  • The laser head is hand held and is supplied with 4 metres of umbilical cord, allowing the operator to mark any size of glass in any position
  • The operator is able to mark the glass at any stage of producon e.g. before or after tempering
  • Water cooled, via an active chiller, with a recommended maximum operating temperature of 40°C
  • Adaptors are available which allow the operator to mark along the edge of glass with thicknesses ranging from 3mm to 30mm, in any denominations. The adaptors can be added or removed within seconds as required
  • When marking polycarbonate or any other type of plastic, the unit is provided with an extraction system

With this system, the floor mounted unit (FU020) is designed with the laser head mounted on a self-guided rail system, built to our customer’s height and width specifications - normally to suit the dimensions and position of a tempering oven

  • Water cooled, via an active chiller, with a recommended maximum operating temperature of up to 40°C
  • The laser head can be effortlessly moved in both the X & Y axis. X is determinable by the length of the rail and Y by +/- 150mm. This provides accurate placement of the mark without the need to move the glass. The X&Y axis are both lockable
  • If required, a remote firing/trigger control can be supplied. This is particularly useful:
    • when large pieces of glass need to be marked some distance in from the edge, as it avoids obstruction of the standard buttons
    • for production runs of the same size glass where the laser head can be locked in place on the rail and fired in the same position without the need for adjustment
  • When marking polycarbonate or any other type of plastic, the unit is provided with an extraction system
